We come from an educated, upper middle class family background with progressive values. Supratik's father is a senior editor with the Murdoch group in Adelaide and his mother worked as a senior school mathematics teacher prior to her current career as a translator/writer. We have three children, Supratik is the second born and the older of two boys. His maternal grandparents worked as doctors in Africa and India and his paternal grandfather is a renowned doctor of linguistics and Ashromik with roots and education from Santiniketan where they still have a family home. His paternal grandmother is a descendant of the Singhas of Sushang in present day Bangladesh. We have homes in the Budge Budge area and in Salt Lake in Calcutta. Supratik is a well balanced, kind hearted and sincere young man who would make a desirable addition to any family. He makes friends easily and is well appreciated by the staff and patients at his workplace. Despite having been born and brought up in Australia, we are very happy to have raised children who are comfortable with being part of both this and their Bengali culture.
